Not a waste

Was glad to hear it recently announced that Ohio City is going to be the next rolled-out phase for Cleveland's automated trash pick-up. There's actually a piece on the movement around the region in the paper.

Of course I think it's great, but if you recall I'm fairly opinionated about waste management. This next step is great because it does encourage more recycling, composting, and reuse by charging extra for more bins. However, it does nothing else to incentivize less waste, as I had proposed earlier. I do think, though, that with this infrastructure, we're beginning to make progress. From here it could be a charge per pick up, or maybe through sensors/weights per volume. Let's hope so, but either way - cheers, Ohio City.
