I think they're good. I think they are bold, and some of them are no-brainers, while other recommendations make me think twice. Some I think are political bombs around here, and others might not work due to our culture. What I can say is that it continues good discussion that we've been having about our public spaces and our lakefront.
Similar to past discussions, though, I'll feel better when some money is behind it and an action plan is put in place. I won't pass judgment until then on what is being done.
Okay, I will provide one comment: while this vision for the Mall and Lakefront is wonderful, it must be supplemented with different nodes and activities. A great public space needs different uses and times to constantly be activated around it. It needs to have reasons for people to be around it and to go through it. We need to somehow open the spaces around it to it. That's going to be a tremendous challenge, but must be a goal.
